Almost two years since Adam Sabolick (Mt. Ossa, the Union Line) unveiled the first music from his new project Double Wish, the release of the first EP is nigh.
The Orange County duo — Sabolick and Phillippe Andre — is back today with the new single, “Know It All,” out via the relatively new label, Hit The North Records.
Like the previous singles, “Know It All” could fall under the umbrella of art-rock or psych-pop (“dark sunshine pop” is how Double Wish describe their sound). Mixed and produced by Andre, it’s a track that explores the nature of acceptance and coming to terms with oneself.
Sabolick says, “’Know It All’ is a song about dopamine and self-acceptance. It’s about not criticizing where you derive pleasure and desire from, even if it induces an amount of self-harm. It’s about knowing how you may be scarred from past experiences, but by accepting these experiences, being able to embrace who you are without shame.”
“Know It All” is the lead track on the upcoming EP, “Light Split Sparkle,” out March 10, which also features “Sugary Plum,” a dark tune that delves into the dichotomy of intoxication.
