Windser — the nom de tune of Santa Cruz native Jordan Topf — has resurfaced with a single for summertime, windows-open car rides.
Co-written with Day Wave’s Jackson Phillips, “Get Lost” is salve for bummerdom. The song is his first new original since his 2022 EP, “Where the Redwoods Meet the Sea,” six songs which were then stripped back to their acoustic bones for this May’s “Panoramic Sessions.”
“‘Get Lost’ is about the desire for freedom and happiness in times of anxiety and depression,” Topf says. “Sometimes that’s running away, leaving home, being in the wilderness, and eventually finding harmony in the great unknown. Sometimes not knowing what the future holds can be the greatest comfort of all.”
No word on an album or EP, but Windser will playing Lollapalooza in August before a September/October tour that, for now, is devoid of West Coast dates.
