Sarah Tudzin has been busier and busier with her production work recently, so “Truck” is actually Illuminati Hotties’ first single in over a year, and just the second since the 2021 album “Let Me Do One More.”

Reminiscent of the work of Juliana Hatfield, “Truck” really puts the “tender” in Illuminati Hotties’ self-described “tender-punk.”

“If mortality is a jolting, jagged highway exit, then heaven is a truck as it rumbles through the unknown,” Tudzin says of the song. “‘Truck’ is a gentle affirmation that the dream can change at no deficit of dignity. For Tim.”

The song arrives ahead of Illuminati Hotties’ appearance this weekend at the Pitchfork Festival and live dates with Boygenius, Alex Lahey and Silversun Pickups.
