“Last Drop,” the lush yet driving new single from Kacey Johansing, lands like a cool breeze of realization.

It’s “about longing for a love that you idealize but perhaps already have,” the L.A.-based singer-songwriter says. “Feeling restless in your patterns and limiting beliefs that hold you back.”

It’s also the second single from her new album, “Year Away.” Originally scheduled for release this month, the album, her fifth full-length, will be out Oct. 13 via Night Bloom Records, the label she co-founded with Alex Bleeker of Real Estate.

Johansing introduced the album in May with the single “Daffodils.” A touring member of bands such as Hand Habits and Fruit Bats, Johansing co-produced the album with Tim Ramsey (Vetiver, Fruit Bats). It features the talents of guests such as Hand Habits’ Meg Duffy, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Amir Yaghmai, Logan Hone, Josh Adams and Todd Dahlhoff.
