If you’ve got one beach party left before summer turns to fall, it’s a no-brainer to bring along Cayucas’ new album “Hangin’ on the Westside.”

It’s the fifth full-length from twins Zach and Ben Yudin, who got their start as Oregon Bike Trails over a decade ago. Ever since, they’ve preached the beach with bright, guitar-driven indie-pop tinted by magenta-sunset nostalgia. “Hangin’ on the Westside,” especially, sounds as if it were commissioned by the California Office of Tourism.

Take the latest single, “Waffles.” I mean, “cowabunga” (somebody yells in the lyrics). “The season of the summer buzz / Summer nights and summer love / California stars above / And I told you it was just because,” Zach sings.

It’s a heavy world, as we’re reminded daily. “Hangin’ on the Westside” makes it a little lighter.
