L.A. native Harmony Tividad — late of duo Girlpool — this summer debuted her solo project, Harmony.

Far from the rawboned, emotionally brittle early music of Girlpool, Harmony’s debut EP, “Dystopia Girl,” favors glossy pop with confessional lyrics typical of diarists who, unfortunately, sacrifice some visceral impact for shimmering production. The five-song release was highlighted by the swirling “Good Things Take Time,” the wry, clever “Shoplifting from Nike” and the title track, which, Harmony says, “is about the desire to be loved as a dysfunctional person in a dysfunctional world.”

Last week brought the follow-up single, “Yesterday,” a bop about choosing the present over the uncertainty of the future (“Who will I be when I’m 60,” she wonders.) The song is another spoonful of sugar in a world with clogged arteries.

Ayodeji, along with Charlie Brady, did the video for “Yesterday.” Director Morgan Maher injected some fun into the videos for “Shoplifting From Nike” and “Good Things Take Time.”
