No “lazy days of summer” going on here — check out Greatest Hits … This Week (Vol. 300), 32 songs strong, featuring new singles from Touché Amoré, Katie Gavin, Saint Motel, Jess Kallen, TOKiMONSTA, Forever Never Changes, Badflower, Geneva Jacuzzi, Foster the People, Dummy, Peel Dream Magazine, Cryogeyser, Wes Chiller, Night Talks, Cassandra Violet and more. Plus, we share songs from just-released albums/EPs by Iress, Wand, Pom Poms, Gracie Gray, Alex Izenberg, Stella Santana and JOYNER. Have fun.

Keep up with Buzz Bands LA’s playlisting here and find all the notes/info on the tracks here.

Forever Never Changes, “With All She Knew” — The second single from the Justin Warfield (She Wants Revenge) vehicle Forever Never Changes sounds like four enshrinees into a mythical ’80s Hall of Fame, all at once. Live July 30 at Gold-Diggers.

Iress, “Ever Under” — Friendly reminder that “doomgazers” Iress this week released their third album, “Sleep Now, In Reverse,” and “Ever Under” is one of the most massive tracks on a massive album. Test your sound systems with this one; Iress is passing with flying colors. Live Aug. 2 at the Echo.

Dummy, “Nine Clean Nails” — “Nine Clean Nails” is an oddly narcotic pop song (as least, as pop as we’ve heard Dummy) and the second single (see “Nullspace”) from the L.A. quartet’s sophomore album, “Free Energy” (out Sept. 6). Watch the video here. And see Dummy on Sept. 7 at the Lodge Room.

Peel Dream Magazine, “Wish You Well” — Positively mesmerizing. “Wish You Well” is the second single from Peel Dream Magazine’s new album, “Rose Main Reading Room,” out Sept. 4. They are one of dozens of reasons to attend the Desert Daze festival in October.

Cryogeyser, “Sorry” — “‘Sorry’ is the song that plays at the pool party your ex is at,” Shawn Marom says of Cryogeyser’s new, neo-’90s burner. “The rage and discomfort become an internal war, asking yourself, ‘Did I do the best I could? Could I have done it differently?’ ‘Sorry’ is about not being sorry. It’s a tongue-in-cheek homage to the intricacies of relationships and communication, especially in conflict.” Watch the video here.

Touché Amoré, “Nobody’s” — L.A. post-hardcore warriors Touché Amoré have signed to Rise Records for their sixth full-length, “Spiral in a Straight Line.” The album, out Oct. 11, features appearances by Julien Baker and Lou Barlow, and “Nobody’s” is the opening track. Touchè Amorè kicks off their fall tour with a return visit Oct. 9 to the Regent Theater, where they recorded a live album back in 2018.

TOKiMONSTA, “Corazón” — Taking a Brazilian vocal sample and running (er, dancing) with it, TOKiMONSTA’s new single “Corazón” introduces the artist’s new album, “Eternal Reverie,” out Nov. 22. Live Nov. 30 at the Fonda Theatre.

Geneva Jacuzzi, “Scene Ballerina” — “Scene Ballerina” the latest single from Geneva Jacuzzi’s new album “Triple Fire,” out Aug. 23. Thalia Mavros directs the video, an homage to Ken Russell’s film “Women in Love.” Live Aug. 31 at the Lodge Room.

Magic Wands, “Hide” — Gothic dream-pop/post-punk duo Magic Wands return with “Hide,” their first single since last year. Live Aug. 23 at the Teragram Ballroom as part of the Dark Summer festival.

Spencer Ludwig & Capital Cities, “Summertime With U” — Pass the sunscreen. Gonna need it to make it through all the remixes.

Saint Motel, “Stay Golden” — Saint Motel _ still A/J Jackson, Aaron Sharp, Dak Lerdamornpong and Greg Erwin after all these years — return with their first single since last year. “Stay Golden,” Jackson says, is “a delicate dance of keeping the light alive while carrying the weight of your own dark shadows.” Live Sept. 10 at the Greek Theatre, opening for Lindsey Stirling.

Katie Gavin, “Aftertaste” — MUNA’s lead singer Katie Gavin has announced the Oct. 25 arrival of her first solo album, “What a Relief,” a record she describes as “Lilith Fair-core.” Especially if you were around for the late-’90s traveling festival, you will nod your head in approval at the first single, “Aftertaste.” Live Nov. 25 at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever.

Foster the People, “Chasing Low Vibrations” — Mark Foster and gang will release their fourth album, “Paradise State of Mind,” on Aug. 16. Live Aug. 14 at the Roxy.

Pom Poms, “Tied Up” — Well, well, what do we have here? A new album from all-around creative Jessie Payo and songwriter-producer Billy Mohler, dba Pom Poms? “Main Meat,” out today, is like its predecessor, 2017’s “Turn You Out” — spirited throwback rock that you can’t help but like. (See also: “Galaxy.”) Live Aug. 11 at the Fable, along with Sisters of Black Mountain and Oddnesse.

Wand, “Curtain Call” — Friendly reminder that Wand’s new album, “Vertigo,” is out today. Live Aug. 3 at the Troubadour.

Sister Gemini, “One Room Apartment” — Sister Gemini is the nom de tune of Remy Jean Gassmann, a Bay Area native who had released but two singles before this week. “One Room Apartment” leaves the others in the dust; a ’90s-tinted pop-rocker made with engineer Sam Plecker (Roger Waters, Father John Misty, Local Natives).

Badflower, “Detroit” — Almost three years since the release of their sophomore album, “This Is How the World Ends,” rock quartet Badflower have gotten back in the swing this summer. In June, they released the single “Teacher Has a Gun,” and now comes a second rocker, “Detroit,” named for the city in which it was penned. Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains, Korn, et al) produced. Live Oct. 9 and Oct. 10 at the Echoplex.

Mihi Nihil, “Moth” — Mihi Nihil emerged in 2020, issued their Adam Lasus-produced album in 2021 and had released only one single since, until this week’s hell-raiser “Moth” came out. Buckle up for this one, especially the video.

Supergloom, “Bleed Me Out” — L.A. shoegaze quintet Supergloom have unveiled the new single “Bleeds Me Out,” made with veteran producer Manny Nieto and the band’s first release since last August’s EP, “Immaterial.”

Jess Kallen, “Ginkgo!” — Last summer brought the release of Jess Kallen’s debut album, “Exotherm.” Kallen returned this week with a whirlying indie-rocker, “Ginkgo!”

Wes Chiller, “Beach Bum” — South O.C. singer-songwriter-surfer Wes Chiller returns with a new single, “Beach Bum,” one of those tunes Jimmy Buffet would have loved. He’s playing the San Clemente Fiesta Music Festival on Sunday, Aug. 11.

Gracie Gray, “Wishes” — Friendly reminder that “Magnet,” the third full-length from dream-popper Gracie Gray, is out today. Live Aug. 3 at Permanent Records Roadhouse.

Alex Izenberg, “An Obscured Odyssey” — Today brought the release of “Alex Izenberg & the Exiles,” the new album from Alex Izenberg. Made with producer Phil Ek, it’s a batch of wide-ranging, widescreen psych-pop and rock that colors outside the lines but, imbued with humor and bite, remains somehow familiar. Check out the videos of “Pareidolia” and “Drinking the Dusk Away,” and see him Llive Aug. 15 at Zebulon.

Cassandra Violet, “Littlest Things” — Cassandra Violet hits a sweet note on “Littlest Things,” the final single before the Aug. 2 release of her new EP, “Right on Time.”

Easy Sleeper, “Feeling Good All the Time” — The title track to the L.A. indie-rockers’ new EP, released last week.

Stella Santana, “Twelve Feet High” — Title track to the new EP from Stella Santana, daughter of Carlos. See also the video for the track “Chasing You Down.”

Eyedress, “Drivin’” — Idris Acuna, aka Eyedress, released a 34-track mixtape this spring, but the hits keep right on coming. Here’s one to count the mile markers to.

Night Talks, “Dream I’m In” — The follow-up to “Applause,” “Dream I’m In” is the latest single from Night Talks, and as dreams go, it’s more of an action movie.

Marlee Quirarte, “Romeo” — O.C.-based R&B artist Marlee Quirarte dishes out the romance on her latest single.

Thomas Aren, “Bygones” — Singer-songwriter Thomas Aren last week released a new EP, the four-song “Bygones,” and the title track, at the very least, is likely to move your emotional dial.

JOYNER, “I Gotta Have It” — Sister duo Summer and Torrey Lefler have released their debut album, “Joyner II,” a collection of airy synth-pop made with Billy Lefler.

Jane’s Addiction, “Imminent Redemption” — Advertised as the first single in 34 years from the “classic” lineup — Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins — “Imminent Redemption” arrives as Jane’s Addiction plots a tour that includes an Aug. 13 date at the YouTube Theater along with Love & Rockets.
