► Los Lobos, the legendary East L.A. band and the subjects of a new book, celebrate the release of their new album “Gates of Gold” with a free show at Levitt Pavilion MacArthur Park.
► The Mad Decent Block Party brings Major Lazer, T-Pain, Riff Raff, NETSKY, Paul Devro, CL, Jauz and TJR to the Los Angeles Center Studios (1201 W. 5th St.) Also: Mad Decent All-Stars do an after-party at Avalon Hollywood.
► Deer Tick and He’s My Brother She’s My Sister highlight the Long Beach Folk Revival Festival at Rainbow Lagoon Park. Also on the bill: The Legendary Shack Shakers, Possessed By Paul James, the Brothers Comatose, the Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit, the Tillers, Snakearm, Yellow Red Sparks and more, at Rainbow Lagoon Park
► The Continental Drifters reunite for the first of two benefit shows at the Morgan-Wixson Theater.
► Superchunk and Merge Records co-founder Mac McCaughan, touring behind his solo albums plays the free  Saturdays Off the 405 at the Getty Center.
► The Budos Band headlines the first night of the two-day LA Psych Fest at the Regent Theater, joined by Night Beats, Mr. Elevator & the Brain Hotel, Ras G, Jennifer Castle and Green Gerry,.
► Rocky Dawuni at Levitt Pavilion Pasadena
► It’s Abba at the Hollywood Bowl.
► Music, comedy and magic are on the menu at Bedrocktobertfest, which brings Money Mark, Fever the Ghost, DJ Lance Rock, the Great Sadness and 80Fitz to the Bedrock LA recording and rehearsal complex in Echo Park.
