Young Light is the transatlantic collaboration between two guys with advanced certificates in shoegazing: Michael Feerick, who fronted the U.K. outfit Amusement Parks on Fire, and Micah Calabrese, who was the drummer-keyboardist (at the same time, in case you never got to witness) in L.A.’s Giant Drag and went on to collaborate in the Sorry Kisses. They released the EP “Great White Arc” in 2013 and now resurface with an insistent bit of popgazing, “Blank Dice.” The big news here is not the gonzo video stitched together by Joe Hardy — it mixes live footage with some sidewalk and front-porch mugging (along, curiously, some bookish endeavors) — but the gorgeous wall of sound that kicks in about the 3-minute mark. “Blank Dice,” which was recorded in L.A. with Josiah Mazzaschi at the controls, was released last week via Desert Mine Music.
