Stream: Trickster Guru, ‘Ghosts in the Night’

Singer-songwriter-producer Christopher Caplan is rolling out his new music as Trickster Guru in two-song installments, or in theatrical terms, “acts.” After debuting with “Act I: The Problem Child,” arrives at the first plot point with “Act II: The Big Surprise.” The bouncy single “Ghosts in the Night,” featuring Jason Aguja on bass and Dylan Fenley on drums, finds the guru battling his inner demons — self-doubt, mostly — over cuddly synths and production by AWAY. The second act’s title track is a little more cinematic, a heartsick, keyboard-driven ballad with a twinkle of redemption even as the singer faces the end time.
