A self-professed “lover of Velvet Underground and breakfast in bed,” Danish born/L.A. dwelling artist Majken wanted to write songs about “L.A.’s mad nights, quiet times by the Nordic fjord and the seduction of Paris” so she traveled to these places, had magical experiences, and wrote an album called “Dancing Mountains,” to be released this spring.  She says, “These songs are my stories of a troubled time, the dancing mountains in my backyard, the owls outside my window singing loud, lonely nights in a magical city, falling in love with madness, those highs and that sunrise. It’s about the waves, it’s all bout the waves.” Production duties were split by Jesse Nolan of Caught a Ghost in L.A. and Maxime Sokolinski of Hologram (and, remember Sweaters) in Paris. First single “Dreaming Of Franco” is an upbeat garage pop song about “living it up” in the wake of being dumped. The video is all cotton candy, ferris wheel, lolipops, friends, and sunny car ride—a recipe for getting over that jerk, Franco, whoever you are.
