Dios, the psych-pop outfit who busted out of Hawthorne in 2004 with a well-regarded debut, is working on a fourth album, frontman Joel Morales (whom most now know as Joel Jerome) announced over the weekend. With the news came the unveiling of “Life Between the Tides,” an eight-minute sprawl of epic guitars and vocals straight out of the misty haze of memories. Dios, which also released albums in 2005 and 2009 (the latter the overlooked “WEAREDIOS”), has negotiated some turbulent times over the past decade, but Jerome has thrived the past few years as a producer/collaborator for a host of young L.A. bands, and in 2014 he released his own opus, “Psychedelic Thriftstore Folk,” and founded Psychedelic Thriftstore Recordings, issuing the excellent album by Globelamp.  When Dios reunited in 2014 for a show celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their debut, the frontman said he did not rule out future releases by his original band. And, finally, the tides have come in.
