► It’s all-L.A., all-star lineup at the Novo: X, Los Lobos and the Blasters.
► The Melvins, whose new album “Three Men and a Baby” (started in 1999, finished in 2015) came out last month, play the Troubadour, a co-headlining date with Napalm Death. Melt Banana opens. This edition of the Melvin sees Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover teaming with Redd Kross/OFF! bassist Steve McDonald — one of three bass players featured on the Melvin’s upcoming album “Basses Loaded” (due in June).
► Violent Femmes visit the Orpheum Theatre behind their new album “We Can Do Anything,” with Jake Brebes suporting.
► It’ll be bouncing at the Regent Theater, where Big Freedia heads up a party that includes NK Riot, DJ Hey Mesa and Tuff Ghost.
► New York multi-intrumentalist/producer Gryffin holds forth at the El Rey Theatre. Get there early for Elohim.
► Dream Theater does the second of two nights at the Wiltern.
► And two L.A. bands with new EPs — MUNA and the Black & the White — team up for a poppin’ pop night at the Echo.
