Like the gothic rockers that influenced her, Kimi Recor sings as if she’s summoning something. Demons, angels, spirits, shelved memories — all give the music she makes under the name Draemings a mystic quality. This week sees her dreams finally realized, with the release Friday of her long-in-the-works full-length “The Eternal Lonesome.” Produced by Eric Palmquist (Bad Suns, Hunny, Trash Talk, Night Riots), it features contributions from A Perfect Circle’s Jeff Friedl on drums and Matt McJunkins on bass. They help Recor, who launched the project more than three years ago after playing in several L.A. bands, find catharsis in dark synth-pop and pulsing synth-rock. She morphs from “Teen Dream Death Machine” to “Golden Girl” in a few minutes; the single “Area 51,” with its foreboding ’80s sheen, only adds to the mystery.
