“The first time I saw her perform, I thought she was like an alien,” says David Lynch. “The most beautiful alien ever,” he adds, describing Chrysta Bell‘s effect on his otherworldly-inclined sensibilities. Her sex appeal does seem to exceed a supernatural threshold; watch the “Backseat” video below and your body will agree. While that song is all heat, “Beat The Beat” has a more surreal appeal, like being pulled through a product line in a dream factory. Both songs are on Bell’s upcoming EP, “Somewhere in the Nowhere,” produced and written by Lynch, who also produced her 2011 album, “This Train.” The EP comes out Oct. 7. She’s currently working on a full-length with producer John Parish, which will feature appearances from Portishead’s Adrian Utley, Geoff Downes of Asia and Yes, and Stephen O’Malley from Sunn O))), with plans to release in 2017. Also, Bell’s been cast in the “Twin Peaks” series that will beam into living rooms this coming bpring.
