Oyster Kids have returned with their third sticky single in as many tries, a pointed ditty for all the tryers in Los Angeles who feel they’re on the outside looking in while friends reap the benefits of fame. “Hear you make big money / Just like everybody / Say what, pass it on the rest of us,” Andrew Eapen sings on “Gum (Everybody’s My Friend).” Oyster Kids — the duo of Eapen and Barrett Slagle — came on the radar last fall with the single “Creepy.” They currently plan to keep releasing a single at a time (perhaps an EP at some point), but there’s more infectious indie-pop in their arsenal, much of which they’ll be playing at their upcoming residency in October at the Echo.
