L.A. folk ensemble Bodies of Water released two well-received albums on Secretly Canadian last decade and another independently in 2011, but except for the dance-pop offshoot Music Go Music they have been silent since. The band, built around the husband-and-wife team of David and Meredith Metcalf, return later this year with a new full-length, rekindling the flames of the gospel- and Western-flavored Americana that hooked fans beginning with 2007’s “Ears Will Pop & Eyes Will Blink.” (“These Are the Eyes” and “Doves Will Circle the Sky” sound like they could have been released last week, by the way.) BoW has unveiled two songs from the album, including the swirling lead track “Dark Water.” It’s been too long since we were swept up in their currents.
