Cold War Kids played a typically fierce hometown show on Friday night as the Long Beach-bred quintet performed a catalog-spanning set from their five albums (and assorted EPs). It’s been almost two years since the Kids’ last album, “Hold My Home,” came out, and it was clear the Palladium crowd knew all the words to those songs and the ones from the band’s 10-year history. They played their No. 1 single, “First,” next-to-last, ending the show with the bittersweet “Bitter Poem.” Canadian alt-country outfit the Strumbellas opened the night.
