The Sunset Strip Music Festival busted loose Thursday with a tribute to Slash and rocks in earnest tonight with show in five of the neighborhood clubs. Earlier I tabbed six bands I’ll be trying to see in the clubs on Saturday, but in the interests of introducing another young band, I give you Delta Rose, who are playing tonight at the Viper Room. Their bluesy rock seems a perfect fit for the SSMF – down and dirty and directly descended from the likes of ZZ Top and Van Halen, only imagined by four kids from Rosemead. It’s the kind of stuff that’ll get you in the mood for traipsing around Sunset Boulevard.
