Avant-pop siren Alina Bea, who this spring released her debut EP “Live Undone,” continues to fire empowerment missiles into the skies of fractured relationships. Her mesmerizing new songs “Push Back” and “Take a Bite” are the second and third singles, respectively, she has released since she unveiled the banger “Get It Off” last month. Both songs carve space out of forested beats and fluttering synths for her bright vocals — in former urging a significant other to not be so placating: “Challenge me, I want to rise / To feel this confusion means that we’re alive / Don’t shy from what we can find,” she declares. “Take a Bite,” on the other hand, is a dart aimed at anybody who might deign to take her lightly, or think she would settle for “living someone else’s dream.” It’s a pep talk to herself, but completely relatable: “They all try to take a bite / Don’t let don’t let them steal your light / Show your teeth, put up a fight / And don’t let them steal your light.” Both songs are out via New Professor Music.
