From the buttery synth that opens “Love Alone” to the sighs that punctuate the verses, Wes Period is in the throes of obsession on his new single. The L.A. singer/rapper’s new (self-produced) offering is the second single off his album “Late Bloomer,” which finally arrives Jan. 13. It’s also the first in a weekly series of songs Period and his crew — Squad Thiq — will be releasing every Thursday between now and March’s South by Southwest Music Festival. The playful video for the song features model Iyana Banks as Period’s objet d’affection. Work on your yoga while they get to know each other.
