Nomi Abadi calls her music “classitronica,” which sounds audacious but really isn’t a stretch at all, considering her background as an interdisciplinary dynamo. The Orange County native, a child prodigy as a pianist, has a resumé as a stage and screen actor, has contributed music to a host of television shows and even once fronted an indie band. “Omega” is Abadi’s latest collaboration with producer Gordon Fordyce, a lush, cascading pop track built around an acrobatic piano line. Like the song, Abadi’s video for the track speaks to inspirations such as Kate Bush, Imogen Heap and Fiona Apple — here are the many, theatrical sides of the singer, fanciful and whimsical yet grounded. “Omega,” released in July with the B-side “Silence,” is the follow-up to Abadi’s 2015 EP and 2012 full-length.
