Silversun Pickups’ North American fall tour landed in their hometown Saturday night with a special purpose — proceeds from the benefit show went to Unidos, a disaster relief fund for Hurricane Maria victims in Puerto Rico. In between songs spanning the quartet’s career, singer-guitarist Brian Aubert profusely thanked the crowd at the packed Theatre at Ace Hotel (and the Ace itself, which donated the venue for the evening) for being a “balance for good.” SSPU’s 16-song set was highlighted by songs from all four full-lengths in their catalog, including 2015’s “Better Nature,” with the main set ending with their biggest single “Lazy Eye” and the encore wrapping with “Kissing Families,” from their 2005 EP, “Pikul.”
L.A. trio Facial opened the show.
