Los Angeles concerts for Monday:
► Van William, whose debut album “Countries” arrives Jan. 19, kicks off a three-week residency at the Moroccan Lounge, with Kera supporting. Fruit Bats are tonight’s special guest, and the $5 cover goes to the L.A. Food Bank.
► Lauren Ruth Ward, whose debut album arrives Feb. 9, starts her residency at the Echo, joined by Liv Slingerland, Yip Yops, Ramonda Hammer and Deanna Passarella.
► Emerson Star highlights the lineup at It’s a School Night at Bardot, where the Eiffels, Wolves and Irene Greene also play. [Friendly reminder at School Night’s new RSVP procedure.]
► Jesse Kivel (of Kisses) starts a residency at the Bootleg Theater, with Ex-Poets and Sophia Knapp joining in. Kivel released a solo EP, “Content,” last fall.
► Tomorrows Tulips headline Zebulon, joined by Cherry Pumps and Nequaquam Vacuum.
► And Bad in Bed rocks a free show at the Satellite, joined by Unsound Sunday, Punch Punch Kick and New Media.
