Pop quiz time. “True Romance” is: a) The title of the new single from SWIMM, b) How Floridians Chris Hess and Adam Winn have felt about Los Angeles from the moment they alighted here, c) What we are all seeking in a time when “true” has become mere obfuscation, or d) all of the above.

Pat yourself on the back if you selected d). The latest dollop of falsetto-spiked psych-pop from the L.A. duo is scheduled to appear later this year on the full-length “Sentimental Porno,” which, judging from the singles so far, won’t be terribly pornographic but will be unabashedly sentimental. Following EPs in 2013 and ’15 and a slew of singles they’ve released since, the album bubbles with the creative energy inspired in part, they say, by the L.A. creative community.

The latter relationship will be on full display Feb. 2 when SWIMM hosts and co-headlines their second annual Love You Down mini-festival at the Echo.
