The Buttertones are headed for Coachella this spring, but first there was some hometown business to attend to this weekend — back-to-back sold-out shows at the Troubadour. At Saturday night’s second show, it was typical Buttertones mayhem — fans screaming and singing along to the surf-punk quintet’s “hits,” especially the songs from 2017’s “Gravedigging.” Wild moshing and a steady stream of stage-divers accompanied the main set before a three-song encore, which ended with drummer Modeste Cobián — a mic in one hand and a drumstick in the other — blasting through a cover of “La Bomba.”
Wild Wing opened the night on a wild note before Tracy Bryant gave a mellower set of material from his album “A Place for Nothing and Everything in Its Place.”
