Honeycraft

Honeycraft is the name for the music of Catherine Rose Smith, a Bay Area-bred, USC-educated singer-songwriter whose breezy songs mix lightly carbonated ’70s disco with bright ’90s indie. Her “dream disco” songs are not dance-floor bangers that blow your hair back but slighty funky, slyly seductive earworms like “Crystal Ball,” her latest single (released Friday) and the title track to Honeycraft’s forthcoming EP. It’s all shimmer and shimmy. The EP was produced by Thom Monahan (Peter Bjorn and John, Vetiver, Pernice Brothers, Devendra Banhart) and is out later this year. If the weather’s warm and your “nightclub” is a convertible, Honeycraft’s first three singles will get you to your destination safely.
