Two women making brash, beautiful and confrontational music were paired up Thursday night at the Teragram Ballroom — Zola Jesus, touring in support of her fifth album “Okovi” (released last fall) and former Crystal Castles singer Alice Glass, performing songs from her self-titled solo EP (also released last year). It was the opening night of the “Snowblood Tour,” co-headlined by the pair, and blood was let.

The venue was packed by the time Zola Jesus took the stage, the crowd enthusiastic and riveted (except for one interruption noted here). Glass took over and performed all but one song from her EP, the new single “Cease and Desist” and a handful of Crystal Castles songs, including “Alice Practice” and “Love and Caring” from 2008 and “Celestica” and “Suffocation” from 2010.
