LCD Soundsystem and Yeah Yeah Yeahs conspired to throw one heck of a two-night party Friday and Saturday at the Hollywood Bowl, each band giving fans memorable moments and ample reasons to get out of their seats and get physical.
LCD played “How Do You Sleep?” (from last year’s “American Dream”) for the first time live on Friday, doing it again it on Saturday on a night they switched up two songs from the previous evening’s setlist. Preceding LCD, Yeah Yeah Yeahs unleashed remarkable energy, big smiles and a sense of humor, with Karen O dominating the show. She had a confetti machine (the paper bits were all little Y’s) that she triggered with her feet.
Scottish trio Young Fathers opened both nights.
