Vera is 80 years old. She is the star of Brett Dennen’s new video for the single “Already Gone.” And by the Vera’s 3 1/2 minutes of stardom, you will want to hang out with the effervescent octogenarian.

The song is from Dennen’s latest EP “Let’s …” It’s a title that suggests enthusiasm yet leaves much to the imagination. The video, the work of director Craig Allen and the agency CALLEN, takes Vera’s imagination and runs with it.

Vera is a woman with a long bucket list. Of course, the daily grind of life has left many items on that list unchecked, until Dennen steps in. So while the singer-songwriter takes care of some of her chores, Vera grabs life by the horns — learning to surf, skydiving, taking up martial arts, setting off confetti cannons and, yes, skinny-dipping in the ocean.

“We did our own mini casting search / dream search and talked to different people about what their perfect day would be if they had the time available to do it, and why they couldn’t do it,” Dennen explains. “We chose Vera, because she had the craziest, most fun-sounding ideas. The only thing holding her back was household chores, which I volunteered to do. This is a part of our yearlong campaign for spreading positivity. I think it’s important that we make the time to do the things we really want to do. It inspires more good things to come.”

Says Vera: “Skydiving was my favorite. To the last minute I was not sure that I would jump out the airplane but I did and cannot be more thrilled.”

If you’ve ever wanted to watch a sunset while sitting in a tub of candy and eating jumbo banana split, this is the video for you. Let’s.
