The Lemon Twigs

The Lemon Twigs — brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario — released an EP last year, “Brothers Of Destruction,” building on the ’70s-tinted modern world they rocked out about with 2016’s “Do Hollywood.” Today they’ve announced their second full-length, “Go To School,” a 15-track musical recorded at their Long Island home about a guy called Shane coming of age. Oops, did we say guy? We meant chimpanzee. Shane is a chimp raised by humans as a real boy. Todd Rundgren and the brothers’ actual mom Susan Hall play the parents. Not to be left out, their dad Ronnie D’Addario makes an appearance, as does Big Star’s Jody Stephens. Starting at the last episode, which is the way some people like to watch TV, “If You Give Enough” is the album’s closing song and moral lesson, for all homidae, human or chimpanzee, to give love without expecting anything in return and so avoid being corrupted by the hateful forces of others.

As for the rest of the album, the brothers say to expect “Something now, then, big, small, bleak, and hopeful. All in under an hour.”
