Video: Smoota, ‘That Body Of Yours’

“He’s a ladies man, but also a man’s man,” says Aya, the smoldering temptress in “That Body Of Yours,” a video in which Smoota, aka Dave Smith, rewrites the dialogue to an old film to be, precisely, all about Smoota. Paired with this hyper-seductive psychedelic slow jam, the video follows a man’s quest for Smoota Pills, which will give him a beard, long hair and a bigger penis. The combo of funny and sexy makes for a good time, and that’s really what Smoota wants. His new album, “Pheromones,” is out today, and it picks up where 2013’s “Fetishes” left its panties on the floor. Utilizing rare drum machines from the 1970s and 80s, amongst an array of other instruments mostly all played by the man himself, the album examines modern sexuality from all angles, including polyamorous urges, happiness via S&M, the biological need to sex, lust for one’s in-laws, female orgasm, the connection between masturbation and intercourse and so much more. The result is as titillating for the brain as it is for the body.
