Vocal dynamo Ruby Friedman released but one single this year, the slow-burner “Un4GvN,” made in collaboration with the duo Two Beards (Alex Elena and Steve Baughman). But there’s more on the horizon for the singer who released “Gem” in 2016 and has been splitting her time between L.A. and New Orleans: She has been in the studio working with producer Mitchell Froom on new tunes. For now, though, enjoy director Aldae Long’s slightly sinister video for “Un4Gvn,” filmed in part at Boardner’s — for those attending this week’s Brian Wilson shows, it’ll give you an idea of what’s in store for the opener.
