Costa Mesa natives Spendtime Palace (Dan Fowlie on vocals and lead guitar, Elijah Chavis on rhythm guitar, Sean Flores on bass, Michael “Toast” McClanahan on keys and Brandon Knickerbocker on drums) are that perfect balance of indie post-punk baked with the beach sun of classic acid rock. They first dipped their toes in the sand in 2012 as a high school party band, followed by their debut album, “Playdate,” and EP, “Sonora.” In the video for the latter’s title track, “Stranger Things” actor Finn Wolfhard co-starred in the video with Iris Apatow and co-directed with Josh Ovalle.

Ahead of their upcoming album, “All Inclusive Romantic Getaway,” produced by Kyle Mullarky (the Grand Elegance, the Abigails, the Shore, Starlite Desperation), the group teased a stream of their new single, “Offshoot.” It’s a crunchy, chewy bar of fuzz rock dedicated to discontent and the havoc it wreaks on the home front as Fowlie sings, “I can’t say in the right way that I’ve found myself regretting coming home / To a minefield of hate and worry that you’ll never stop.”

“All Inclusive Romantic Getaway” will be released next Friday, Jan 25.
