Ears Wide Open: Wild Signals

The perfectly echoing guitar notes at the outset of “Home” feel like an old friend, especially if your ears were weaned on the shoegaze and dream-pop greats of three decades ago. It’s the lead song on “Start at the End,” the debut EP from Los Angeles quartet Wild Signals. Over six songs, the band — singer-guitarist Noël Brydebell and Nicole Ridgely, along with drummer Josh Renkow, and bassist Ben Keysaer — create meticulously textured soundscapes ranging from ethereal to dense. For fans of Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, Pale Saints, Asobi Seksu and other immersive experiences, the EP comes out on Friday.
