When we last checked in with him, Tyson Kelly had split from his band King Washington and released his first solo single, “Girl, You’re So Money.” Which was indeed money. He has since departed for London, where he continues to play John in the acclaimed tribute band Bootleg Beatles and, he adds, is “missing L.A. dive bars and blue skies.”
Two weeks ago he released his solo EP “No Signal.” It’s more of the sharp songcraft fans heard from his band and that first solo single, and well outside the boundaries of classic pop. It was made at L.A.’s Reseda Ranch Studios with co-producer Fernando Perdomo and a mix from Alex Pfender (of yOYA). In addition, Kelly says via social media, it’s the first in a series of EPs he will release every month. Hey, there’s a lot of months, but the calendar says late February is only a couple weeks away.
