Murfreesboro, Tenn.’s Those Darlins return with “Screws Get Loose” to follow up their wild self-titled debut from 2009. Jessi, Nikki, and Kelley Darlin plus drummer Linwood Regensburg once again blur the lines between country and punk so well they’ll have you moshing in your worn-out leather boots, breaking beer bottles or at least grinding on the dance floor to some more freewheeling anthems. However, it’s not hard to hear that this album also tells the road-weary tales when Jessi begins to sing “The plane had finally landed/I could hardly stand it” in the heavy garage-pop title track. Those Darlins may have matured but don’t worry, they’re still bold as ever in songs such as “Be Your Bro” when they sing, “I just wanna run and play in the dirt with you/You just wanna stick it in.” [Previously.]
