Neal Casal tribute concert scheduled for Sept. 30 at the Regent Theater

Friends, former bandmates and admirers will gather to pay musical tribute to the late Neal Casal on Monday, Sept. 30, at the Regent Theater in downtown L.A.
Casal, the singer-songwriter and guitarist who played with the likes of the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Ryan Adams, Willie Nelson, Phil Lesh, Shooter Jennings, Cass McCombs, Tift Merritt, Todd Snider, Circles Around the Sun and GospelbeacH, died last month at age 50.
Sweeten the Distance: A Concert to Celebrate Neal Casal (named for Casal’s 2011 album “Sweeten the Distance”) will feature Beachwood Sparks, Grateful Shred, Jonathan Wilson, the Mattson 2, GospelbeacH, Andy Cabic of Vetiver, Johnathan Rice, Jon Graboff & Leslie Stevens, Mapache, Jesse Aycock & Lauren Barth, Blake Mills, Victoria Williams, Don Heffington, Muddy Stardust, Rachel Dean and special guests.
A similar tribute will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y.
Proceeds from the benefit concert will go to MusiCares and THERAsurf.
