[Birthday greetings today Trent Reznor … Here’s the morning missive, delayed a bit by some connectivity problems. Apologies:]
Touts for Tuesday:
‣ New York DJ/producer/singer Luca Venezia, d/b/a Drop the Lime, looks as though he can rock a dancefloor. How he’s doing it is interesting – old-school ’50s rock ’n’ roll spiked with modern house music. That’s his video for “Hot As Hell,” above. Drop the Lime has an album due in September, and tonight he performs at Check Yo Ponytail at the Echoplex along with Classixx and MNDR.
‣ Blake Sennett and the Elected, whose new album “Bury Me in My Rings” is out today, headlines the Troubadour, with the Moor and the Chances opening.
‣ Alberta Cross continues its residency at the Satellite, and Chasing Kings support.
‣ Lo-fi punk rockers the Death Set and tourmates Win Win rock the Bootleg Theater.
‣ And west of the 405, the Lonely Wild’s residency at the Central SAPC in Santa Monica goes off with Risers, Coyote and Future Dancing supporting./
