While hoping to never again see celebrities singing “Imagine,” here are Friday’s notes. It’s a special day on Bandcamp, which has waived its share of revenue so artists get 100% of the proceeds from purchases. Plus, info on how to support the support staff at some L.A. venues, as well as some online finds (Neil Young, Phantom Planet, Diplo/Rhye).

BANDCAMP

Bandcamp is waiving its revenue share on sales today. “For many artists, a single day of boosted sales can mean the difference between being able to pay rent or not,” says Ethan Diamond, Bandcamp’s co-founder and CEO. “Still, we consider this just a starting point. Musicians will continue to feel the effects of lost touring income for many months to come, so we’re also sharing some ideas on how fans can support.” See them here. (One of them: Bandcamp has the option to pay more than the asking price.)
