Today, in the third of our interview/artist playlist series QUARANTUNES, we bring you resurgent dream-pop/shoegaze/psychedelic outfit Film School, who returned from an eight-year hiatus in 2018 with the acclaimed album “Bright to Death” and haven’t let up since. Drummer Adam Wade was kind enough to give us a moment and share the band’s playlist:
THE LATEST FROM FILM SCHOOL
In February, Film School dove in to 2020 by releasing the double-single “Is This a Hotel?” and “Don’t You Ever.” Plans for the rest of this year included more new music and touring, but like a lot of artists they’re in limbo.
HOW ARE YOU HOLDING UP AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MANAGE THE ‘STAY AT HOME’ EDICT?
Adam Wade: Despite being perpetually gobsmacked, we’re holding up rather well for now. We’ve got two school-age boys at home, so we’ve become part-time teachers. We’re enjoying spending time together as a family, playing games and watching movies together. However. it’s only been a week so this could all change quickly …
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO WHEN THIS IS OVER?
Adam Wade: It will be fascinating to see how this affects society in general. I imagine the world will be a very different place. I’m also looking forward to visiting my mum in Melbourne, assuming she makes it through this.
ANYTHING WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS PLAYLIST?
Adam Wade: It’s a bit of a hodgepodge, but the titles and themes are pretty specific to our current situation.
