Video premiere: Hamish Anderson, ‘Out of My Head’

A couple survives the throes of a dispute to find happiness in the company of friends in the video for Hamish Anderson’s “Out of My Head.” The video, directed by Erik Shute, stars Katie James and Farzad Azima, who seem to be squarely in each other’s heads until a dinner party with Jessica Dardarian and Gerardo Alamo, followed by genial gathering on the patio with other pals.
Of course, there could hardly be a mellower tune to salve relationship wounds than Anderson’s acoustic guitar meditation, the title track to the L.A.-based Australian’s sophomore album, released last year. The singer-songwriter, who’s been hailed as an emerging blues guitar hero, touches on the many facets of roots music throughout “Out of My Head.” On the title song, just like the couple in the video, he lives to riff another day.
