Musicians don’t often get to work directly with artists who influenced them, but that’s what has happened with SoCal dream-pop duo Fawns of Love.
The husband-wife duo of Joseph and Jenny Andreotti had intially approached Robin Guthrie, a founding member of Cocteau Twins, about remixing their song “Someday,” the lead track on Fawns of Love’s 2019 album “Permanent.” It quickly became more than that: Adding multiple guitar tracks, bass, keys and drums, Guthrie commandeered the tune, making the Andreotti’s lush, ethereal creation even more lush and ethereal.
“Someday” is out today digitally on Bandcamp and as a limited-edition 7-inch via Kingfisher Bluez.
