Downtown Pasadena took on a different life this past Saturday as the city became part of Make Music Pasadena. Music flowed in and out of alleys, off the rooftops, throughout the open patios and, of course, from the outdoor main stage. A diverse lineup that included a good number of local bands also attracted big crowds. Whether people baked in the sun to see the Morning Benders, Best Coast or Ra Ra Riot at the Indie Rock stage or stayed late to catch Kisses or Zola Jesus at the One Colorado Emerging Artists stage, this was a gathering of people who dedicated their day and night to some great music. Attendance was particularly high, forcing festival promoters to delay a few bands in order to obey the fire marshals. Despite the late starts (and a mini-riot during the Kisses set), it sure was a nice way to spend time outside before the weather turns scorching hot.
