French-American singer-songwriter and harpist Naomi Greene has unveiled her first single since 2018, “Over the Hills.” In the song, an homage to her late grandmother, she sings “And you want me to come back to you / You say that your life was for two / Maybe there’s a place for us / Over the hills / I’ll be waiting until dusk / For your old age.”
But Greene is singing not in the first person but in the “voice” of her grandmother, as Greene imagines she would as her elder departs this world. It’s positively heavenly.
The video for the song, directed by Destefano Deluise, was shot in the waning light of the day in downtown L.A.
