■ Turning the tide of her career from Brill Building hitmaker (with then husband Gerry Goffin) after striking out on her own, Carole King wrote and performed one of the most influential albums of all time with her second album, 13-time Platinum (counting just the U.S.) “Tapestry,” produced by Lou Adler. Celebrating the album’s 50th anniversary today, Annie Lennox, Carly Simon, Kate Pierson, Dar Williams, Laura Stevenson, Jill Sobule and more join the Bardavon Opera House in New York in celebrating the artist and her influential album. King has also invited fans to share how the album has touched their lives, using the hashtag #MyTapestryStory on Twitter and Instagram, from which they’re being collected here.
