Head in the Clouds festival expands to 2 days, moves to Rose Bowl

Head in the Clouds — the Asian music festival that drew more than 20,000 to L.A. State Historic Park in 2019 after debuting in 2018 — expands to two days, Nov. 6-7, for the 2021 edition at Pasadena’s Brookside Park at the Rose Bowl.

Co-promoted by Asian media company 88rising and Goldenvoice, the festival has not yet announced a lineup. Two-day general admission passes start at $199 and go on sale at noon Friday, June 4. For those who register for presale, tickets will be available starting at 10 a.m. Friday.

In conjunction with the festival announcement, 88rising has released a new single from its collaborative album, “Head in the Clouds III.” The song, “California,” features two of the 2019 festival headliners, Rich Brian and NIKI, teaming up with newcomer Warren Hue in a salute to the Golden State. “This song is about three Indonesian kids that managed to chase their dreams,” Brian says. “Whether it’s acting, being a scientist or an architect or both, it’s all attainable. “In this case NIKI, Warren and I attained the same thing, and that is making a career in California, which comes with its highs and lows.”
