Weekend viewing for fans of action, dance and romance, respectively: Check out new videos from PENDANT, Lucius and Malia.

PENDANT, “Static Dream”

In his new video as PENDANT, genre-shredding artist Christopher Adams is pursued by two determined women (Moriah Vega and Valentina Carrick), and … well, we won’t spoil it. Like the song — the latest from the L.A. native’s sophomore album “Harp” (out April 8 via Saddle Creek) — the video is a thrill ride. It’s directed by Ramez Silyan (the Neighbourhood, Cold War Kids), who nails it in every aspect. The song, the follow-up to “Thorn,” is a dynamic mash-up of post-punk and electronic pop. “Harp” winds its way into hip-hop and shoegaze, too. Says Adams: “I wrote ‘Static Dream’ after seeing my late father in my sleep one night. The dream was chaotic and sad, but over the following day I felt a closeness to him I hadn’t felt since his passing. It felt like a new memory I was able to forge with him outside of space and time.” PENDANT will play Genghis Cohen on April 7.

LUCIUS, “Heartbursts”

Befitting the title of the song, the video for “Heartbursts” is positively jubilant — because, with the pandemic loosening its grip, you never know where dancing will break out. In this case, it’s at the Valley Indoor Swap Meet in Pomona, where choreographer and movement director Teresa “Toogie” Barcelo makes her directorial debut. Lucius’ Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig are among those who bust a move, and why not? “We’ve been wanting to work with Toogie for years after seeing her dynamic work with a diverse cast of artists from Perfume Genius to Dua Lipa,” Wolfe says. “Because the song is about finding your joy and tapping into it, we thought what better way to emphasize that than with a group of people in their everyday life moments, breaking out with movement. We really wanted the video to convey the way the song feels when we hear it, and as a team, it really came to life.” The song is the follow-up to “Next to Normal” and “White Lies,” and the third single from Lucius’ new album, “Second Nature,” out April 8. Lucius opens for Brandi Carlile on June 24 at the Greek Theatre. Tickets.

MALIA, “Only One”

Malia Cunningham is the picture of elegance — and heartache — in Kolby Listenbee’s video for “Only One,” the final single from her EP, “What’s After ‘I Love You?’” “Am I the one? / The only one in love?” the soul singer wonders, a common theme that flows throughout her EP, which came out Friday. Stream the whole EP here. And on March 12, she opens for JMSN at the Regent Theater (tickets).
