The Hollywood Bowl’s 2023 season is packed with pop, rock, jazz and soul luminaries — Janet Jackson, Sparks, Portugal. The Man, Café Tacvba, Culture Club, Fleet Foxes, Maggie Rogers, Alvvays, My Morning Jacket, King Gizzard, Jill Scott, Gladys Knight and Maxwell among them — along with the special events that make the Bowl so singular.
The lineup was announced today. Tickets for some individual shows (as well as new subscriptions and group sales) are on sale now; the Bowl’s “Create Your Own Package” option is available starting March 14; and single-ticket sales for all shows start May 2.
The Bowl’s signature events are also back. Among them: Three nights of fireworks for the 4th of July with the Beach Boys; the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival (featuring Kamasi Washington, Leon Bridges and new Grammy winner Samara Joy, among others); three nights with “Maestro of the Movies” John Williams; the Sing-A-Long “Sound of Music;” music galore from stage and screen; the KCRW Festival series of concerts; and more than 20 classical programs on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
Artistic director Gustavo Dudamel is back for his 14th Bowl season, leading programs that include Mendelssohn, Verdi, Ellington and music from his Pan-American Music Initiative.
