The Teragram Ballroom crowd had a double reason to enjoy Friday night as Fatal Jamz celebrated the fact that they were headlining the night and officially releasing their third album, “Fatal Attraction.”

The atmosphere of the night was driven by the music. They played a mix of songs from both “Fatal Attraction” and the upcoming final record of Marion Belle’s “lead singer trilogy,” which will be released later this year. Belle’s gleaming vocals came out strong in “Fatal Attraction” and “Eternity” with lyrics such as “it felt like heat” just gliding from his lips. When the band started off the snappy beats for “Eternity,” Belle shook his hips and strolled across the stage to the delight of the audience. Belle wore a pink shirt and in tribute to the color, he praised his band with, “I’m so touched and tickled pink,” before launching into “Pantera.”

When the band chilled with the song “Plaything,” the crowd swayed with the rhythm. For the song “Biggest Fan,” the crowd pressed close to the stage when Belle came to the edge, and as the song ended he held a brief conversation with perhaps the band’s biggest fan. For “Cool Angels,” the song was played with just a keyboardist and Belle, who knelt on the floor, folded his hands and gave the crowd a bow. The band closed the night with “Coverboy.” As the crowd screamed, Belle left the stage with, “I love you. Thank you.”

Sharing the stage with Fatal Jamz was Billy Tibbals, Akira Galaxy and Dagger Polyester, who closed the night. Dressed as a damaged toy soldier and performing as a malfunctioning robot, the latter had their artsy goth fans smiling and chanting “Tina Turner.” The last song of their set was what “everyone needs,” “Discipline.” Billy Tibbals played just before Fatal Jamz and put on a show that made the microphone stand an extension of his own body with songs such as “Hurt So Bad” and “Best Day I Ever Had.” It all inspired Los Angeles singer-songwriter Poppy Jean Crawford, who was out in the audience, to rain dollar bills onto the stage. Akira Galaxy charmed the early arriving crowd with songs such as “Virtual Eyes” and gave the audience an air kiss when they responded kindly to a song.
